In 2005, Connex called for a comprehensive strategy of using the Internet for the next 4 years, as its acquisition by Vodafone was imminent.
The project involved the search for answers to some relatively simple questions, but with a great responsibility on the project results:
- what results can we get on the Internet?
- what are the steps to get them?
- what should we invest in?
- how much to invest?
- how to proceed?
We did
The document we created, included, in its over 100 pages, the business and marketing perspective on Internet use, containing both the strategic directions, main and secondary objectives and specific tactics to achieve the objectives we set:
business objectives
- reduce operational costs
- increase revenue by using the Internet
- obtain feedback and measurement and consumer behavior
communication objectives
- differentiation from competition
- loyalty of certain segments and attracting new segments
- preparing migration to the Vodafone brand
operational objectives
- reduce development costs of new services
- unification of the entire online experience Connex (sites, applications, etc..)
- development and training a team devoted to online
In addition, the strategy also contained several specific elements:
- integrate the functionalities of myX portal in connex.ro
- content strategy for organizing Connex.ro website
- 6 Alternative methods of organization and presentation of Connex services
- a list of 80 individual projects that serve specific objectives set out
- a proposed roadmap for the development projects
For reasons of confidentiality we can not reveal the solutions proposed in the strategy and the tactics, but it's worth noting that the entire strategy has successfully passed the audit required by Connex to a company from abroad.
