The launch of the Dutch beer on the Romanian market meant the launch of an unconventional website that incorporated the experimentalist spirit of Grolsch.
Last year, Ursus Breweries introduced a new label of beer on the Romanian market. It was of Dutch heritage since 1615 - Grolsch. The beer's slogan was key in developing a proper online strategy for the Romanian digital market - "Proud Sponsor of the Experimentalists since 1615".
In comparison with other beer products, Grolsch stands out with its unique bottle cap that, it's iconic swing top, used as a key visual in website design. To better understand the brand's values we created two websites: grolsch.ro and experimentalist.ro.
The first website launched was grolsch.ro and was meant to be the first contact users would have with the brand. The main purpose was to introduce the audience in the unconventional world, filled also with history and tradition. That's why Grolsch's website received a unique navigation system and many design themes inspired by ongoing offline campaigns.
The billboard on Calea Victoriei which reinterprets the swingtop in different art styles, inspired us in creating a special mosaic theme. After that, the subway party got its special design on the site and also the Gcan creative contest theme can be used as a navigation theme.
