Geek Meet is a meeting of web development & co enthusiasts and was held for the first time in Stockholm in April 2006. In October 2009, the first of its kind took place in Bucharest.
The event had a rather busy schedule but an interactive one, lasted 6 hours, while 10 personalities in the Romanian online market discussed projects, entrepreneurship and programming languages.
Marius Deak was present at the event too, and presented the idea of "Irregularities in the Romanian 2.0 entrepreneurship". The main ideas, which you can also see here, present in a geekish, funny style the stages of a start-up, focusing more on issues that you will encounter when trying to do something on the Romanian online market.
He talked about the funding (Seedcamp, SeedMoney) that most 2.0 entrepreneurs apply to, but also about very important steps to take up to that point, over which many overlook: create a functional product, the team behind the project, a marketing plan.
In short, the presentation held by Marius Deak at GeekMeet brought back to reality all small dreamy entrepreneurs, by drawing a warning about the "deficiencies of Romanian 2.0 entrepreneurship", but while providing solutions to remedy them.
